The Basic Skills Initiative (BSI) is a collaborative statewide effort to address the needs of community college students who are academically under-prepared to succeed. BSI is funded by a grant from the Chancellor's Office. It is intended to facilitate basic skills education and to provide extended professional development opportunities to faculty and staff.We invite everyone at CSM to get involved with this college-wide initiative.

We want to thank all of you who attended our Spring assessment retreat and those of you who have attended BSI Regional meetings. We also want to thank those, particularly staff, who have dedicated time and energy to the project behind the scenes.
