BAYCES Teaching With a Cultural Eye Institute
How do teacher and administrator’s own cultural identities influence their interactions with students, parents, and colleagues?
Most educators have heard the term "cultural competence" - but have never received adequate preparation to appropriately respond to the challenges of a diverse classroom.  BayCES is offering a new open-registration institute this year - Teaching With a Cultural Eye - designed for new or experienced teachers, principals, and administrators interested in moving equity to the center of instructional practice..  The non-residential Institute takes place March 4-6, 2010 at Preservation Park in Downtown Oakland.  Click here for more information or to register.
