Overview

College of San Mateo is committed to meeting the evolving needs and expectations of our students and community through the expansion of alternative means of delivering instructional and student support services.

Distance education courses consist of online and hybrid courses.

• An online course is one where instruction takes place through the internet using a course web site such as WebACCESS.
   
• A hybrid course has mandatory campus meetings; however, less than 50% of the instruction, assignments and communications of the the class are conducted during scheduled classroom meetings with most conducted online.

All CSM distance education courses are applicable towards Associate's degree credit and many satisfy transfer course requirements.

For quick information about enrollment and attendance at College of San Mateo anyone may use the eAdvising service.  The Distance Education Office is  also available to assist and answer questions in order to ensure College of San Mateo students have a successful distance learning experience.
