The community develops written and oral skills of advanced ESL students. Using critical thinking skills, students will learn to both speak and write knowledgeably about a variety of current issues, from discrimination to tolerance and consumerism to simple living. What choices have ESL students made (and what choices can they make) in creating their lives in this multi-cultural, multi-ethnic country? Students will learn to have in-depth discussions, give formal and informal presentations, and write academic essays about these topics.
The community meets MWF from 10:10 am to 12:25 p.m.
