Welcome to the Italian Program at College of San Mateo.
Italian is the sixth most studied language nationwide, and the number of U.S. students of Italian is growing. Furthermore, Italy is the second most popular destination of U.S. study abroad students who recognize the value of proficiency in Italian, spoken by approximately 66,000,000 people worldwide, and the importance of knowledge about another culture, an essential part of preparing for a successful career in a globally interdependent world.
The Italian program boasts a highly accomplished faculty whose goal is to guide students toward mastery of the spoken and written language and familiarize them with Italy’s rich cultural heritage.
