Reading & ESL Center

Overview

Sharpen your reading/ESL skills in a quiet and friendly environment.

In the Reading & ESL Center, you can fulfill the hour-by-arrangement requirement of your reading or ESL class or enroll in an independent, lab-only course to improve any aspect of your reading, vocabulary, or conversation.  You can:

• Develop your vocabulary
• Learn and apply spelling rules
• Improve your reading rate
• Deepen your comprehension of textbook material
• Practice pronunciation
• Practice conversation with ESL teachers and non-native speakers
• Improve note-taking and listening skills

The Reading & ESL Center is staffed by instructors, instructional aides, and student tutors, so you can get personalized attention.  Books and other print materials, videos, DVDs, and computer programs will also assist your instruction.
