Steps to apply for your certificate:

  1. Make sure you are ready to apply for your degree by completing the DegreeWorks evaluation on WebSMART. All required coursework should be completed or in progress; any outside coursework must have already been officially evaluated and approved through the Transcript Evaluation Service. Other substitutions must have already been approved by the Dean of Counseling with the Course Substitution Petition.

    If you are not sure, please call (650) 574-6400 to make an appointment with an academic counselor before proceeding.

    1. Log on to WebSMART.
    2. Click Student Services.
    3. Click DegreeWorks. (To evaluate your coursework for this degree, you may need to click What If,
      then select from the options in the drop down menus and click Process What If.)
    4. The evaluation should indicate that each requirement has been met, or is being met by coursework in progress.
    5. If any areas are indicated as "still needed", please make an appointment with an academic counselor to review your coursework and make sure you have taken all steps necessary to have outside coursework evaluated
      and/or substitutions approved

  2. Click 'proceed' button below to complete and submit the online application.

  3. Check your my.smccd.edu student email account for your confirmation and other important information regarding timelines and contact information. You will have an opportunity to submit supplemental information if it's needed.
