Stanford University, Psychology (Minor in Latinex Studies)

My two years as a student at the College of San Mateo were incredibly formative, during which I earned my Associate degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Social Science, and obtained my Pre-counseling certificate. These years were deeply impactful both personally and academically. The College of San Mateo fostered in me a strong sense of belonging, and I became involved in various programs and clubs that enhanced my collegiate experience. Through my engagement with the Puente Project, Honors Program, EOPS, Promise, Mental Health Peer Educator, and ASCSM Student Government, I was able to build a network of support that helped me thrive. It is with great pride that I share that I graduated with honors, am a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and maintained a position on the Dean's List throughout all five semesters.

As I transition from CSM to Stanford, I carry with me the invaluable tools and lessons that the College of San Mateo provided. At Stanford, I am now majoring in Psychology and minoring in Latinx Studies, while also actively participating in the Undergraduate Student Psychology Association, serving as the Chicanx/Latinx Studies Program Liaison, and being involved in the South American Student Association and the Montoya Scholar Program. The foundational experiences and support I received at CSM were crucial in preparing me for the challenges and opportunities at a 4-year institution like Stanford.
