Getting Started at CSM 

Interested in applying to College of San Mateo? The College Transition Team is available to guide you through the process of becoming a CSM student. We provide support with enrollment steps, including Assessment, Orientation, and Counseling, and assist you with registering for classes. 

Your CSM journey starts here! Review the steps below to help guide your transition from high school senior to college freshman.

Apply to College of San Mateo

Step 1A: Create an OpenCCC Account

If you have never applied to CSM, start your application by creating an OpenCCC Account.

Step 1B: Apply to CSM

Once you have created your account, or if you have previously attended or applied to CSM, you can begin the application process.

After submitting your application, you will receive an email from our Admissions team that includes your G-Number (CSM Student ID) and username. This email typically arrives within a few hours but may take up to two business days. Please note our Admissions and Records Office Hours of Operation.

Attend a Priority Enrollment Program (PEP) Workshop or Super Day

Priority Enrollment Program (PEP) is designed to guide new students through Assessment, Orientation, Counseling and prepare them to register for classes. This workshop provides the essential information and resources you need to get started and feel confident as a CSM student.

Unable to attend a PEP workshop? You can still complete your enrollment steps by attending one of our Super Registration Days. In this one-day event, students complete all required enrollment steps, including class registration.

Register for Classes

You will receive an email providing you with your priority registration date. Log onto WebSMART to register for courses online. School fees are also payable via WebSMART.

WebSMART Support

Use your WebSMART account to manage your enrollment, view your academic records, and update your student information. Using WebSMART, you can:

  • View your Registration Date
  • Register for Classes
  • Add/Drop Classes
  • Pay for Student Fees
  • Access your Student Email
  • View your Class Schedule
  • View your Student Educational Plan
