We believe every student deserves the tools to succeed. This year, CSM celebrated the 1,000th graduate of the Promise Scholars Program, a model of comprehensive support that includes tuition, textbooks, transportation, and counseling. Through SparkPoint, CalFresh outreach, and new transportation options like SamTrans Route CSM and Way2Go passes, we continue to break down financial and logistical barriers to education. Our Wellness Center and peer-led programs expanded mental health resources, ensuring students find care, connection, and community when they need it most

Este año, CSM celebró a la persona número 1,000 en graduarse del Promise Scholars Program, un modelo de apoyo integral que incluye matrícula, libros de texto, transporte y consejería. A través de SparkPoint, la difusión de CalFresh y nuevas opciones de transporte como la Ruta CSM de SamTrans y los pases Way2Go, seguimos eliminando barreras financieras y logísticas para la educación. Community Investment, Community Degrees
CSM’s Promise Scholars Program is an associate degree completion program: up to three years of tuition and fee waivers, textbook support, priority enrollment, and monthly participation incentives, wrapped in relationship-rich advising. This year, CSM celebrated the 1,000th Promise graduate, part of a class of over 200 as the program continues to improve retention and completion rates for first-time, full-time students.

Transit That Works for Students
Transportation should not be a barrier to a degree. This year, we expanded a full suite of access programs: 5,000 free Way2Go passes districtwide through our partnership with SamTrans and county partners; unlimited rides on all SamTrans routes for eligible students; a new SamTrans Route CSM linking San Mateo Caltrain to the campus; and the free CSM Shuttle with direct connections to Millbrae BART, Hillsdale Caltrain, Hayward, and Half Moon Bay. Mobility is equity, and it is one way we serve our community.

Chapter of the Year, Culture of Care
CSM’s Active Minds, the student-led chapter of a national mental-health education nonprofit, earned National Chapter and Student Leader of the Year, proof that advocacy works when services are strong. The Wellness Center turned momentum into access by hosting health fairs each semester serving hundreds of students, expanding peer education, and keeping personal counseling services accessible when students needed it.

Global Perspectives, Local Belonging
CSM’s International Education Program welcomes students from around the world and equips them to thrive. Year-round programming brings global perspectives to campus through International Education Week, language and culture exchanges, career pathway panels, and community events. The annual World Gala celebrates culture and connection with students, families, and community partners. International students enrich every classroom, and we meet their contributions with an inclusive community and clear pathways to transfer and careers.
